camping in virginia

If you are a novice in camping and hiking, start with day adventure trips till you feel you are comfortable and skilled enough to plan a few days in wilderness parks. While it is more challenging than other forms of climbing, ice climbing can be the most rewarding and exhilarating.

Camping is an adventure, it's exciting, different and fun. Spiked soles that clamp to the soles of your boots, called crampons are required for keeping traction on the ice. Once you determine where to go, plan on packing all the essentials so your experience is rewarding and safe.

One thing I always enjoyed as a child was camping with the family. Rope, tarp and sleeping bags will be necessary especially if you are camping out. Depending on where you are going and how far you are hiking, you may be quite comfortable in a three-season tent.

No honking horns, no ringing phones, just the great outdoors. Ignite your imaginations, spark their creativity, because camping builds memories.
